Roman Brylynskyy Ph.D., Associate professor of automation of heat and chemical processes of the Institute of Power Engineering and Control Systems at "Lviv Polytechnic". Roman Brylynskyy is an Academic Secretary of Lviv Polytechnic National University.


Biography

Roman Brylynskyy was borned on April 2, 1955 in Lviv in the teachers' family. In 1972 he graduated with honors from Lviv secondary school № 70 and entered the Lviv Polytechnic Institute, department of Thermal Engineering in speciality "Automation of heat and energetic processes." In 1977 he graduated with Diploma with honours of heat and power. During the whole period of study he performed the duties of the monitor of academic group.


Professional activities

  • 1977 – 1978 — an engineer at Lviv specialized enterprise "Spetsenerhoavtomatyka";
  • 1978 – 1981 — a postgraduate student of AHCP at Lviv Polytechnic;
  • 1981 – 1988 — first he worked as an engineer and later as a researcher at Scientific Laboratory(NDL– 25) at the department of AHCP;
  • 1988 – 1991 – an assistant at the department of AHCP;
  • 1991 – present — an associate professor at the department of AHCP.

Roman Brylynskyy got his Ph.D. degree in 1987 after a successful defence at Moscow Institute of Chemical Engineering on the topic "Chemical and Sorption Throttle Measuring Converters of Gas Mixtures Concentration", and the title of assistant professor he received in 1993. He is the author of several dozen scientific papers, including three certificates.

Along with teaching and research activities Roman Brylynskyy was working:

  • 1993 -2001 — Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs of the department of Thermal Engineering;
  • 2003 – 2006 — Deputy Dean of Distance Learning Institute;
  • 2006 - 2011 — executive secretary of the Admissions Committee of the Lviv Polytechnic.


Brylynskyy family and music

His life is closely connected with music and musicians. His father — Bohdan Brylynskyy — in the past was senior lecturer at the department of Thermal Engineering and Thermal Power Stations of Lviv Polytechnic Institute, for over 25 years he is a concertmaster (first violin) in the symphony orchestra of Lviv Polytechnic. His mother — Lyubov Brylynska — is a Music teacher of theory subjects at Lviv Secondary Specialized Music School after Solomiya Krushelnytska. His wife — Halyna — is a winner (first prize, 1979) of the Mykola Lysenko All-Ukrainian Competition for Pianists, Ph.D., professor at Mykola Lysenko Lviv National Musical Academy Lysenko. The elder son — Ostap — is a surgeon at Lviv Regional Clinical Hospital, graduated from the studio at S. Lyudkevych Lviv Music School as a clarinettist and saxophonist. The youngest son — Maksym — having achieved the highest peaks of violin craftsmanship and won the title of laureate of many prestigious awards and international violin competitions, including E. Myenuhin (2002, France) Niccolo Paganini (2002, Italy), in Senday city(2004, Japan), in Britten city (2004, England) became an artist of worldwide known symphony orchestra of the Vienna Philharmonic and Opera.


When Roman Brylynskyy was a student also played the violin and was a member of the institute orchestra and participated in contests for the best amateur "Polytechnic Spring". Since 1999 he has been an active member of the national men's choir "Orpheus" and visited the competitions and festivals in such countries as Poland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the United Kingdom (Jersey), Greece, where Roman Brylynskyy successfully promoted Ukrainian choral art and adequately represented in the world Lviv Polytechnic National University.
