Institute of Computer Science and Information Technology (ICSIT) was established in October 19, 2001 at the Department of Computer Engineering and Information Technology. Today it is the leading scientific and educational center of Ukraine in the field of computer science.

General information
Institute of Computer Science and Information Technology (ICSIT) of Lviv Polytechnic National University was established in October 19, 2001 at the Department of Computer Engineering and Information Technology. Today it is the leading scientific and educational center of Ukraine in the field of computer science.
Teaching process at the departments is provided by more than 200 teachers, including 18 professors, doctors of sciences and 78 candidates of sciences. The director of ICSIT is Sc.D., Prof. Mykola Medykovskyi. In the institute there is a developed electronic information-analytical system for monitoring the learning process, which started its successful work in 2005 allowing the effective use of human resources, scientific and methodology methods, and material resources.
Material and technical base of specialists training comprises twenty-four computer labs and four specialized teaching and research computer laboratories equipped with modern machinery and software. Students have the opportunity of free access to the Internet.
The Institute is a member of Microsoft Academic Alliance (MSDN AA) and provides training technologies of Microsoft. Within the Institute only licensed software is used, which allows high-quality and professional study of major subjects.
