At the dawn of the restoration of independence Ukrainian statehood in 1990 staff of the department of history at Lviv Polytechnic worked on the study and teaching of the course "History of Ukraine". Department began training bachelors in specialty "Museology and protection of monuments of history and culture." Scientific and methodical work is subordinated to the theme "Innovative potential of historical and cultural heritage" The growth of scientific and pedagogical potential of the department promotes regular basis in its regional, All-Ukrainian and international scientific conferences. Department staff are constantly working to improve the scientific and methodological support of educational process in basic course "Department of Ukraine" and "History of Ukrainian culture."
