Ananiy Kohut is a Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Docent, Professor of the Department of Organic Chemistry at the Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Technologies of Lviv Polytechnic National University.

2018 — academic status of Docent at the Department of Organic Chemistry.
Professional activity
Ananiy Kohut has been engaged in research and teaching since 1996 and occupied the following positions:
- 1996 – Research Assistant at the Department of Organic Chemistry;
- 1998 – Post-Graduate Student at the Department of Organic Chemistry;
- 2001 – Junior Research Associate at the Department of Organic Chemistry;
- 2011 – Doctoral Study for a Sc. D. degree at the Department of Organic Chemistry;
- 2014 – Docent (Associate Professor) at the Department of Organic Chemistry;
- 2018 – Professor at the Department of Organic Chemistry.
Ananiy Kohut worked as a Research Associate at the Institute of Particle Technology of Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (Germany) in 2004-2007.
He was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Coatings and Polymeric Materials of North Dakota State University (Fargo, ND, United States) in 2007-2011 and a Visiting Researcher at the same department in 2015-2018.

Ananiy Kohut is a co-author of:

- Polymers for Production of Food and Cosmetics for Master students majoring in Chemical Engineering.
Research
Ananiy Kohut published 80 articles in peer reviewed scholarly journals, 7 chapters in books, and filed 5 patents.
He has been actively involved in research work at the Department and worked on following projects:
- Development of the methods of the synthesis of surface active peroxides and monomers for the formation of compatibilizing systems for composites;
- Synthesis of new of surface active monomers and macromers – initiators with a controlled reactivity for polymer modification, study of their properties and the development of the methods of their synthesis based on available raw materials;
- Synthesis of new peroxide-containing heterofunctional reactants for the interface modification in colloid polymer systems;
- Polymeric hydrogel biomaterials for the design of dispersed and planar drug delivery systems and tissue engineering.;
- Design of theranostics based on pseudo-poly(amino acid) macromolecules for monitoring delivery and release of therapeutic drugs;
- Scientific principles of synthesis of novel polymeric hydrogel (nano)composites of special applications.
