Komova Mariia Vasylivna (*January 15, 1957) is a Ukrainian scientist, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Deputy Head and Associate Professor of Social Communication and Information Activities Department of Lviv Polytechnic National University.

Biography
Mariia Komova was born on January 15, 1957.
In 1978 – graduated from Kyiv State Institute of Culture.
During 1978-1986 – Chief Librarian of Lviv Regional Universal Scientific Library.
During 1986-2003 – Head of the Scientific and Methodological Department, Deputy Director of the Scientific Library of Lviv Polytechnic National University.
Since 2011 – Deputy Head of Social Communication and Information Activities Department of Lviv Polytechnic National University.
Professional activities
In 1996 – received a grant from International Renaissance Foundation. With the assistance of the Foundation published "Russian-Ukrainian dictionary of bibliographic terms" on the occasion of the 150-th anniversary of Lviv Polytechnic National University establishment.
In 1999 – defended the Candidate thesis on "The formation and development of Ukrainian bibliographic terminology" and got her Candidate of Science degree in Philology.
During 2000-2011 – Associate Professor of Ukrainian History, Science and Technology Department (History, Theory and Culture Practice Department).
In 2005 – was awarded the academic status of Associate Professor.
Since August, 2011 – Associate Professor of Social Communication and Information Activities Department [1].

Mariia Komova won the competition among the authors of monographs, textbooks and training manuals in the category "The Best Monograph" and was awarded with the Second Degree Diploma of Lviv Polytechnic National University.
