Each department is equipped with computer lab and teaching and methodological office, which, in particular, are used as rooms for the course and diploma projects.

The main sources of information support for lecturers and students of the Institute are its own scientific and technical library and electronic media. Work of the library focuses on timely and complete information support of the teaching and educational process. For this aim, information days for teachers and students are held systematically (monthly), book exhibitions and presentations are organized, library references and consultations are provided. The Institute library mainly provides educational and research process for teachers and students.

Book fund of the institutional library comprises more than 25 thousand books, a significant part of which are textbooks and manuals issued by the Institute. Science and technology library except the book fund has the methodological developments for diploma projects, term papers and tests, practical and laboratory studies and independent work of students developed by lecturers of the Institute and published by its own publishing department. All of them are concentrated mainly in the reading room. All major textbooks and educational accessories available in the library are published in Ukrainian.

Branch of the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Advanced Technologies of Lviv Polytechnic National University in Stryi was established in 1999 to provide the region with skilled professional economists who would contribute to its development and growth. The existence of branch enabled the graduates of secondary schools, lycée, gymnasiums, colleges of Stryi and Striyskyi, Zhydachivskyi, Skole districts to learn without going far from home, thus avoiding the solution of many problems related to housing, lack of free time for recreation, self-development and so on.

Institute of Enterpreneurship and Advanced Technologies (IEAT) of Lviv Polytechnic National University in 1999 opened a structural unit in the Drohobych, Lviv region, as a response to the challenge of time due to the need for qualified economists in the Drohobych region. The Institute is located in a comfortable Drogobych downtown.

The first branch was headed by PhD, assistant professor of marketing Vasyl Shutenko. Since February 2006, the branch of the Institute in the Drohobych, has been headed by PhD in Philology, associate professor of Humanitarian Training Department Larysa Karlova.

Institute of Entrepreneurship and Advanced Technology is a teaching and research subdivision of Lviv Polytechnic National University formed due to decree №83-10 in 28.05.2010.

General information

Institute has subordinate branches of Lviv Polytechnic National University in Drohobych (82100, Drohobych, Sichovykh Striltziv str., 2) and in Stryj (82400, Stryj, Sichovykh Striltziv str., 12в).

The Institute consists of seven departments. Research and teaching staff of the departments (2 doctors of sciences, 61 candidates of sciences, 53 senior teachers and 30 teachers) provides teaching at high professional level.

Professional training, retraining and advanced training of scientific and pedagogical staff of departments is implemented due to lecturers’ participation in the research work, postgraduate studies, training at the leading universities and research institutions of Ukraine, as well as through participation in work of methodical and scientific seminars and conferences.

Each department is equipped with computer lab and teaching and methodological office, which, in particular, are used as rooms for the course and diploma projects.

In this field of training, students receive the Bachelor's academic level and the qualification of Bachelor in Marketing. The duration of training in the Marketing major is 4 years (on the basis of complete secondary education) and 2-3 years (on the basis of junior specialist training program).

In this field of training, students receive the bachelor's academic level and the qualification of Bachelor in Computer Science. The duration of training in the Computer Science major is 4 years (on the basis of complete secondary education) and 2-3 years (on the basis of junior specialist training program).

Bachelors in Computer Science are able to continue their studying in the Specialist or Master training programs.

The graduates are competent in such areas of expertise as principles of construction and architecture of automated systems; methods of construction and analysis of typical models of data and knowledge bases, complex objects and systems; methods of production of system and applied support for multipurpose automated systems; high-level programming languages (JAVA, DELРНI, C++); typical computer systems (Microsoft Office, Paradox, Adobe Page Maker, PhotoShop, Corel Draw); methods of analysis and construction of standard information processing models in business, management and entrepreneurship; methods of software development for financial and banking systems; software for management and marketing tasks; creation of multimedia systems.

A specialist in computer science is able to perform such work as designing and exploitation of integrated automatic systems of information management and processing; administration of local network systems of governmental bodies, commercial and banking structures and regular monitoring and audit of network resources; control of information integrity and preservation in databases and providing of protection of information in databases; information resources management and maintenance of telecommunication systems; installation and maintenance of system and application software; advanced planning, forecasting. Organization and management of design works in the sphere of management and information technologies; implementation and development of new computer and information technologies.
